J. S. lives along the shores of New Jersey where she was raised. When J. S. is not plotting to ruin her characters' lives, she enjoys; reading (do not ask how far along in her TBR she is), playing video games, annoying her husband and son, or playing with her three demon cats Denisovich, Nyx, and Loki.

She started writing early, having a passion for spinning stories through written word and through dance. Her dance professor in her undergraduate program had her take her first written work and turn it into her senior dance project. Her husband finally gave her the courage to self-publish in 2025 after she told him about a weird dream with a school on an island and dragons a year prior.

Holding dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in dance and English, J. S. continued with dance across the pond in London for her Master of Fine Arts in choreography. She pursued teaching dance from 2016-2024 teaching various styles to all ages. While she enjoyed teaching the next generation, she decided to switch gears and follow her writing dreams full time.
